Praise & Worship: One Pure And Holy Passion by William Murphy
Foundation Scripture: Ps 119:33-40
Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, and I shall keep it to the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, for I delight in it. Incline my heart to Your testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way. Establish Your word to Your servant, who is devoted to fearing You. Turn away my reproach which I dread, for Your judgments are good. Behold, I long for Your precepts; revive me in Your righteousness
The above scripture should become your prayer and the true desire of your heart.
Q: What does it mean to follow wholly after Christ?
A: To step out on faith each and every moment of every day of your life.
“Step out on faith” – a saying that is overly used but rarely explained. To receive a full understanding of what it means to step out on faith you first must know what faith is.
*faith is defined as:
Heb 11:1 – “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”
Biblegateway.com (Easton’s Bible Dictionary) – “faith in general is the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true. It’s primary idea is trust. A thing is true and therefore worthy of trust.
Dictionary.com – “confidence or trust in a person or thing”
So spiritually speaking, faith is confidence and trust in God.
Following wholly after Jesus requires you to step out on faith…stepping out on confidence and trust in God.
Sometimes He will call you to do things that you’ve never imagined…things that may scare you…things outside of your comfort zone…things that will cause you to make unexpected changes…things that will have you walking “blindly” because you don’t know how they will end…things that will make people question your decisions because they don’t understand.
I challenge you to ask yourself,”Am I truly ready to step out on complete faith?”
Last week God spoke this words to me,”Once you step out of faith, peace will follow.“
So no longer live in fear, doubt, disbelief, worry or anxiousness! Even if you’re afraid, FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY! Just Leap.
CHOOSE to live every day of your life moving forward with trust and confidence in God. ‘Just Leap’ into what He’s spoken and told you to do.
